Golf Rules
· Each parish must have an adult present player’s at the first tee; monitor play to prevent lagging, and insure all team members have transportation home at the end of the round.
· This activity is open only to 7th & 8th graders. Schools are allowed a maximum of 16 tee times weekly. Rosters may have more than 16 players, but league fee and tee times limited to 16.
· First named player on the scorecard will keep score for the foursome. Each player will initial his score at the end of the round.
· Completed scorecards will be submitted to the Golf Commissioner
· The first four rounds will serve as qualifying for the Championships. Qualifiers must complete three rounds. The best three scores will serve as a player’s qualifying score. Weekly team scores (best four boys/three girls) will serve to identify qualifiers for the Team Championship.
· The top ten player’s scores will qualify for the individual Championships. The top five teams (four boys/three girls) will qualify for the championships. Additionally, the top player for all schools not qualifying for the team championship may compete for the individual championship.
· 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies will be awarded for Boys & Girls Teams & Individual play.
· Nine shot rule in effect. Once a player has taken nine shots, they must pick up their ball, enter nine on the scorecard for the hole, and move on to the next tee. If a group falls more than one hole behind the group ahead, they will be required to pick up and move to the next tee, with all players recording a score of nine.
· All penalties will be played as lateral hazards . Players will drop a ball at the point the ball was lost or parallel to the hazard, add a stroke and play through.
· Free drop if ball rests in casual water or on a cart path.
· Cancellation of round for weather at discretion of course management and Golf Commissioner. When possible, Golf Commissioner will contact coordinator’s regarding rainout.
